Google is rewriting the internet and bypassing microsoft in internet code. One example is Google’s support of a free software resource called VLC which stands for Video Lan Client. This is software that is designed to view and listen to a big variety of media files across several platforms including Mac, Windows and Linux. Joe Robinson of Summit Nettrekker, my Mac authority, demonstrated this software the other day when we were trying to figure out a good way (notice “easy” was not the word used) to listen to MPRCO.org stream cast over the internet. But it is pretty easy if you have ever downloaded and installed software before, just click on the download link and away you go. You will need to paste the URL for the stream into the media player in order to get it to play. That stream is: http://asx.abacast.com/production/mpr/mpr-mpr-48.asx
